wee~

It's so crazy around here lately...
Stupid war...
Stupid SARS...
Stupid West Nile...

*sigh*

I wanna go out travelling... and yet there's so much problems in the world right now we have to all stay put. The travel industry is frailing (oh, believe me I know, I get complaints about it from my dad every day) and everybody is scared to go out.

18 people have died so far in Canada for SARS... I hope it really goes away soon. I like to start going places again.

There is something seriously wrong with me when...

...I listen to Depeche Mode and it doesn't cheer me up one bit.

message to my bunny

Thanks for watching over me.
Thanks for looking at this site even though it's never updated.
Thanks for checking up on me when I need it.

I haven't written here in a long time, and I kind of feel bad that I haven't... but really, I should. I just haven't found enough time to write anything meaningful in here. But should diaries really have to be meaningful? I dunno. But when it's not, I don't feel happy about it. I guess it's the way you look at these things. When I feel sad, I feel bad about everything, even if they're not really failures. I've been down for a long time, depressed and unhappy a lot. But lately I've been finding little things fulfilling and bringing my spirits up. :) I guess it really is just the outlook on life and how you look at everything. I find myself looking through the viewfinder of a camera and it helps me find a different perspective on things. Ah, I know it sounds strange, but it's true ;)

So thanks for coming by - I've lost my guestbook yet again... oh well. ;) I guess I should start working on this page again!

Thank you Ben & Jerry's!

Mmmm....
I went to the city hall yesterday during lunch, for a free sample of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. It was advertised in the local free paper, and also on the internet, and there was a lot of people lining up. I went there with Carol (my partner in crime ;) and maybe we lined up for 20 min? It was rather a fast line, and I got Banana walnut (I forgot the name of the ice cream), and Carol got cookie dough. It was rather melty, but we got so much! I was expecting a little sample but we actually got a whole tub (small tubs that ben & jerrys have) which is probably worth about $5? I ate part of it, and it is now freezing in the office freezer... mmm... when will I eat it next? ;)

The ice cream is very banana-y with every bite... and huge chunks of chocolate and walnuts. Yum yum. :)

Sorry for not updating... :(

Once a month update. :)
Here's the lowdown. I have no motivation to update this site. No motivation to write in the diary. So maybe I'll just go in this slow pace to make myself happy. :)
Also... one thing I really need to do - get rid of my e-mail addy on this site... I'm getting too many bulk e-mails and it's driving me up the wall! Ugh... just so many things to do.

Here is the lowdown of the last few weeks.
Aug. 11th.
Taste of Danforth. Yummy! :)
Festival of meat on a stick (TM) (courtesy of Ian ;)

Aug. 17th. Linh and Albert's wedding.
It was such a beautiful wedding. I loved it. :) Chinese weddings are always grand, I find, with all that food. They just want you to be stuffed and happy. ;) Albert, Linh, I hope you guys are happy and best wishes!!!

Aug. 22nd. Bike / Wine Tour @ my office
Crazy weather. Just crazy. Biking in the rain isn't that much fun. Good thing they gave us a poncho so we don't get too wet! Went to 3 wineries... by the time we finished the 3rd winery, I was a little red from all the wine tasting! It was good exercise, and a great little break from work. :)

Aug. 24th. Cathy and Steve's wedding.
We went to Buffalo to witness their wedding. Steve's all grown up. :) It was nice to go to Buffalo - it was very interesting. Saw bad neighbourhoods, narrow roads, Mighty Taco (it was not bad!), funny James Brown doll, and so the US trip was rather interesting even for a day. The wedding itself was very beautiful! The reception afterwards was a little dry (the dj was pushing everybody too hard!) but it was neat. Cathy, Steve, I gotta go visit ya... :)

Aug. 25th. Varekai - Cirque du Soleil, CNE.
Varekai. Simply amazing. This is one show not to be missed. I'd love to buy a video of this... it was so pretty, and the music amazing... and really funny, too. I love watching Cirque perform. Even if the tickets are rather steep, it is well worth it.
CNE afterwards - the ex was rather fun, though we didn't have enough time to look around. The show 'Inferno' (laser show) lacked quality after watching Cirque du Soleil. ;) But the laser light thing was really kewl. I wanted a lighted keychain, but was turned off at the $20 price tag.
I won a dog at a midway game - skeeball. Huge dog, too... but it's shedding. I have no room in my room for it... ;)

I'm gonna write so it won't get deleted ;)

hihi...

sorry for the loooong time not updating. I'm alive and well, I'm just preoccupied with other things. There's lots of things I wanna write... like...
- the camping trip I went with my Sweetie
- bbq @ my friend's
- Puffy AmiYumi concert
- Fun time at P-mall
- Beaches Jazz Fest
- Movies I've seen
- my problem with my health...
etc etc. etc.

I can tell you I am well now and I'm not having any trouble with my health anymore. I am having trouble trying to find time to go back to the gym (^-^;

Aaaanyway... all I can say right now is that I'm pretty psyched up right now from meeting amazing celebrities... mainly Colin Mochrie ... he's sooo nice. :) I got to go see the Off the cuff taping again... I will try to write about it soon. :)

til then, tata. :)

Interesting news from my favourite band...

3rd Depeche Mode member launches own label

The rumours have been around for quite some time, but they have now been confirmed. Andrew Fletcher will be launching his very own label in the months to come. The labelname is as of yet still unknown though sources indicate the name would be something like I-6. Fletcher apparently already has a signee as well on the label in the form of a girlsduo. In an interview with the French DVD magazine DVD Home he says: "I have been working with a girlsband for the last few months, the band is not know at all right now, but they have all the potential to become huge." It's not the first time that Fletcher has worked on a solo project. An unreleased demo called "Toast Hawaii" (Fletch's favourite dish from the Berlin based Hansa Studios cafe in 1983) featured Fletch singing cover versions of his favourite tunes, accompanied by Alan Wilder and Martin on piano. Alan Wilder once commented on it by saying: "We did however, have problems convincing Dan Miller that it was worth releasing!" Obviously the tape was never released.

...never knew Fletch had a song... let along sing... (^-^;

what if...?

hello,
I've been forgetting to write here. It always makes me wonder if anybody is reading. If anybody is there to read every word I write and care what I do. I always wonder if there is anybody out there wondering why I don't write...
What if I died? Would anybody coming to my web page notice? I mean, there aren't too many updates, so naturally, nobody will find out...

It just made me wonder, ... I've been feeling rather sick lately, and I was actually at the hospital last tuesday. It just sort of made me wonder about what happens to internet lives if someone suddenly dies. I mean, their web page stays the same, really, until sooner or later it just disappears. After you e-mail the person and don't get replies, or the e-mail address just one day disappears... and you have no way of contacting this person because you've only known this person online, do you just go about your own life wondering what happened? You just hope that one day you'll meet again? You don't know their phone number, you don't know their address - all you know is an online identity, an e-mail address and a web page. If the person suddenly dies, the web page will suddenly stop updating. Unless a friend or someone knows of the address and the password to update the page, or somebody who knows what happened to this person writes in the guestbook notifying anybody that comes along that this person has passed on, there really isn't any way of knowing... not like you know their real names.

It just makes me wonder... maybe I should keep a record of my e-mail addresses and passwords... just in case... (^-^;
